We’ve had a brilliant start to our latest shiftED programme, working with a fantastic group of local primary schools in Camden: Netley Primary School and Centre for Autism, Richard Cobden, and Primrose Hill.
Our first project, Mighty Motors, launched at Netley and has already sparked huge enthusiasm among the pupils. Through hands on making, problem solving and creative experimentation, children are learning how design and engineering come together – and having a lot of fun in the process!
Here are a few snapshots of the journey so far…
It’s been especially inspiring to see how engaged and focused the students have been. Programmes like this show just how powerful real world, design led learning can be – especially when children are given the tools, space and encouragement to explore.
As Monique, the Deputy Head of Netley, put it:
‘We simply can’t offer this level of quality in school — the children have been completely engaged, and attendance is always high on the days they’re at shiftED.‘
We are looking forward to developing more programmes over the coming terms. Watch this space!
