Spring Term — Mondays, starting 5th or 12th January 2026
Unfortunately, the application deadline has now passed for this project and now closed. Please sign up for updates to be notified of up-coming after-school programmes.
Get ready to turn metal into art! You’ll hammer letters into metal, emboss cool designs, and create shapes using wire. Try jewellery-making skills like piercing, etching and patinating with surprising ingredients. Each week you’ll build new tools, textures and creations as you design your own unique metal masterpieces.

This project is being run in partnership with Jackie Oliver, a professional metalwork artist, who works at Cockpit Arts.
Jacky studied at the Royal College of Art and now works at Cockpit Bloomsbury. She’s a metal-maker who uses jewellery, silversmithing and even blacksmithing skills to create anything from tiny objects to giant public sculptures!
Jacky loves helping other young people discover how amazing metalwork can be, and she’s taught in loads of places – from schools and museums to community workshops. You can find out more about her work here.
